HaUI - Goertek: Promoting Cooperation in High-Quality Workforce Training
On February 28, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) and Goertek Group (China) held a working session to strengthen cooperation in training and scientific research. Both parties agreed to implement training programs under the 3.5 + 0.5 and 3 + 1 models, aiming to enhance workforce quality and meet labor market demands.
The collaboration between enterprises and educational institutions is becoming increasingly common worldwide, yielding practical benefits for both sides. Integrating training with real-world applications allows students to access cutting-edge technologies while providing businesses with high-quality human resources ready to work upon graduation.
Overview of the working session
In recent years, HaUI and Goertek have engaged in various cooperative activities in training and research. This time, Goertek’s leadership expressed their desire to further expand the scope of cooperation, particularly in specialized engineering training.

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong, Vice Rector of HaUI, emphasized the university's strengths in training high-quality human resources. With state-of-the-art facilities, an extensive cooperation network, and a training strategy closely aligned with industry needs, HaUI has established partnerships with thousands of domestic and international enterprises. Notably, through the Office of External Cooperation and HaUI’s Training & Human Resource Supply Company (LETCO), the university has built a comprehensive training process, enabling students to engage with businesses while still in school.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong also highly regarded Goertek’s human resource development strategy, particularly its specialized engineering training model in Shandong, China. He highlighted that focusing on sourcing talent from Vietnamese universities, especially third- and fourth-year students majoring in mechanics, electrical and electronic engineering at HaUI, aligns well with industry development trends.

Expressing gratitude for HaUI’s warm reception, Mr. BANY, Vice President of Human Resources at Goertek Headquarters, reaffirmed that improving training quality and expanding collaboration models are two key strategic focuses of the group in Vietnam.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to implement two training programs: 3.5 + 0.5 Program (Students will study for 3.5 years at HaUI and 0.5 years at the Goertek Vietnam Training Center) and 3 + 1 Program (Students will study for 3 years at HaUI and 1 year at the Goertek Vietnam Training Center).
Additionally, HaUI and Goertek committed to strengthening scientific research collaboration, focusing on highly applicable projects to address practical challenges faced by enterprises.
With a solid foundation of partnership, HaUI and Goertek are confident in the potential for further advancements in workforce training and scientific research. The synergy between academia and industry not only benefits students but also enhances business competitiveness, contributing positively to socio-economic development.
