Hanoi University of Industry launch a new SMC Automation Lab worth 2 billion VND

On the morning of September 22, 2020, Hanoi University of Industry held a ceremony to hand over the Automation Lab worth more than 2 billion VND funded by SMC Corporation Vietnam.

Attending the ceremony, on the side of SMC Corporation, there was the presence of Mr. Gerald Ho - General Director of SMC Corporation Vietnam and other members of the company. On the side of Hanoi University of Industry, there was Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Duc Quy - Rector, PhD. Bui Thi Ngan - Vice Rector and representatives of Center for Enterprise Partnership, Vietnam Japan Center, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, lecturers and students of Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

Overview of the Ceremony

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Duc Quy thanked SMC Corporation Vietnam for their cooperation and support in recent years. He expressed his joy when the lab room was put into operation at Hanoi University of Industry. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Duc Quy pledged that the equipment sponsored by SMC Corporation Vietnam will be exploited in the most effective way in training and scientific research activities of the school.

The lab is expected to serve thousands of students every year in the fields of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics. In addition, the laboratory also supports lecturers and students to carry out scientific research projects, thereby enhancing the faculty capacity and contributing to providing high-quality human resources for SMC in particular and labor market in general.

Mr. Gerald Ho, General Director of SMC Corporation Vietnam, said that contributing to the community, especially in the education sector, is one of the company's missions. He affirmed that SMC Corporation Vietnam will continue to cooperate and share the latest technologies with Hanoi University of Industry, contribute to training skilled engineers in the fields of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics.

On behalf of SMC Corporation Vietnam, Mr. Gerald Ho wished Hanoi University of Industry the continued success in training excellent students - as many former students of HaUI are working at SMC Corporation Vietnam.

Automation Lab sponsored by SMC Corporation Vietnam is located on 5th floor of A7 building, faculty of Electrical Engineering. The lab room includes automatic - pneumatic practice stations, experimental kits based on technologies in pneumatic engineering and cross-sections of pneumatic equipment.

In May 2019, SMC Corporation Vietnam Co., Ltd. sponsored the equipment of a pneumatic lab worth 2.3 billion VND to Hanoi University of Industry.
