Hanoi University of Industry launch a new pneumatic lab worth 2.3 billion VND

On the morning of May 23, 2019, Hanoi University of Industry held a ceremony to hand over the pneumatic lab worth 2.3 billion VND funded by SMC Corporation Vietnam.

Attending the Ceremony, on the side of HaUI, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Quy - Rector, Dr. Bui Thi Ngan - Vice Rector and representatives: Center for Enterprise Partnership, Vietnam Japan Center, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and Faculty of Electrical Engineering. From SMC Corporation Vietnam, there was the presence of Mr. Gerald Ho - General Director and other members.

Overview of the Ceremony

Speaking at the Handover Ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Quy thanks SMC for its support and cooperation for many years. He affirmed: to HaUI, the association, cooperation and support from businesses contribute an important role in building a training and academic environment which is to meet the demand for technology during the period of industrial revolution 4.0.

Recently, many international and domestic enterprises cooperate and support HaUI in the process of training; especially the contribution of Japanese organizations and enterprises which is including SMC Corporation Vietnam Ltd.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Quy hopes that SMC will continue to accompany the university in training activities and the two sides will cooperate more in the future.

On behalf of SMC Corporation Vietnam, Mr. Gerald Ho - General Director said: “With the desire to support the training and research work for lecturers and students of HaUI, SMC Corporation Vietnam donated a pneumatic lab with modern equipment”.

According to Mr. Ho, HaUI has an advanced training system toward application and SMC is a company capable of providing suitable equipment for technical training programs. Therefore, SMC is happy to be a partner of HaUI.

Pneumatic lab funded by SMC Corporation Vietnam Co., Ltd. for Hanoi University of Industry is located on the 3rd floor of Building A7, Vietnam-Japan Center. It’s worth 100,690 USD (equivalent to 2.3 billion VND).

The device consists of pneumatic automation practice stations, experimental kit according to the technologies in pneumatic engineering: Vacuum valve, energy saving in pneumatic engineering, motion control using motors step, safety in compressed air use, speed control for pneumatic cylinders and other equipment.

The lab is expected to serve thousands of students every year in the fields of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics. In here, students have the opportunity to access knowledge and skills to practice advanced technology on pneumatic, mechatronics engineering, thermal engineering, automation etc.

In addition, the laboratory also supports lecturers and students to carry out scientific research projects, thereby enhancing the faculty capacity and contributing to providing high-quality human resources for SMC in particular and labor market in general.
