HaUI Celebrates Vietnamese Teachers' Day
On November 16, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) hosted a grand celebration to mark the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20). The event also spotlighted the university’s commitment to educational excellence, as it announced and awarded certificates for training programs meeting national quality accreditation standards and introduced programs accredited by ABET international standards.
A Tradition of Excellence
With a legacy spanning 126 years, Hanoi University of Industry has remained steadfast in its mission to nurture talent and advance education. The celebration highlighted the collective dedication and perseverance of the university’s faculty in overcoming challenges and achieving remarkable milestones.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc, Rector of HaUI, emphasized the university’s enduring tradition of innovation and excellence. "With a dynamic spirit, a culture of responsibility, and a commitment to autonomy, we are confident in achieving our goal of building and developing a world-class educational institution," he remarked.
Achievements in the 2023-2024 Academic Year
The past academic year has been a landmark period for HaUI, marked by significant strides in quality improvement, governance innovation, and autonomy. Key highlights include Governance Transformation: HaUI has restructured its administrative model, transitioning from management to administration. Three new schools were established: School of Foreign Languages and Tourism; School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering; School of Economics. Preparations are underway to launch the School of Electricity and Electronics and the School of Information and Communication Technology in early 2025.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Bong, former Vice Rector of HaUI, was conferred the prestigious title of People's Teacher. Three lecturers received the Excellent Teacher title: Dr. Nguyen Van Thien, Vice Rector of HaUI; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Trong Chuong, Deputy Dean, Faculty of Electrical Engineering; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Dang Hung, Head of the Division of Information Systems, Faculty of Information Technology.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Hong Quan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc, Rector of the University presented the prestigious title of "Outstanding Lecturers" to six individuals who have made significant impacts in their respective fields: Assoc.Prof.PhD. Le Ba Phong - School of Foreign Languages and Tourism; Assoc.Prof.PhD. Hoang Tien Dung - School of Mechanical & Automotive Engineering; Assoc.Prof.PhD. Dang Ngoc Hung - Quality Assurance Center; Dr. Bui Thi Thu Loan - School of Economics; Dr. Nguyen Ba Nghien - Faculty of Information Technology; Dr. Pham Van Nam - Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
Student Gratitude and Commitment
Representing 34,000 students, Nguyen Hong Minh delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing gratitude to the faculty for their unwavering dedication and mentorship. Minh’s words reflected the deep respect and admiration students hold for their teachers, reinforcing the university’s mission of cultivating well-rounded, socially responsible graduates.
Advancing Quality Standards in Education
HaUI proudly announced that 15 additional training programs have achieved national accreditation standards, bringing the total to 33 out of 66 programs. Furthermore, five programs have earned ABET international accreditation, solidifying HaUI's position as a leader in quality education.
Assessing and ensuring the quality of its training programs remains a top priority for HaUI as it continues its mission to innovate and develop education that meets both national and global benchmarks.
The celebration honored the contributions and highlighted HaUI’s vision for the future. With ongoing initiatives to expand and enhance its academic programs and governance structure, Hanoi University of Industry remains at the forefront of education, paving the way for continued success in the years ahead.
