HaUI establishes School of Information and Communications Technology and School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
On January 8, 2025, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) officially announced the establishment of two new academic units: the School of Information and Communications Technology (SICT) and the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (SEEE).
This significant step aligns with the university's strategic goal of transitioning to a modern and efficient governance model, aiming to streamline operations, enhance performance and effectiveness, and elevate the quality of education and training. The initiative underscores HaUI's readiness to thrive in the new era of national growth.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hong Quan and Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc formally presented the resolutions for the establishment of the two new schools: School of Information and Communications Technology and School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
At the announcement ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hong Quan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council, and Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University, formally presented the resolutions for the establishment of the two new schools. These new schools mark the fourth and fifth academic units created, fulfilling the university’s strategic objective of establishing five schools within its structure. This milestone lays a robust foundation for implementing the university’s innovative governance model.
Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University spoke at the event
Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc emphasized that since 2017, HaUI has been committed to implementing the directives of Resolution 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Central Executive Committee. The resolution focuses on continuing the reform and optimization of the organizational structure to ensure streamlined, effective, and efficient operations. As a result, the university has reduced its operational units by 10 and continues to optimize its structure.
The establishment of the two new schools not only reflects the goals set by Resolution 18 but also fosters decentralization and empowerment, strengthening the autonomy of academic units. This enhanced autonomy will enable the schools to innovate and improve the quality of education, scientific research, and faculty development. Additionally, it positions HaUI to meet the increasing demands for high-quality human resource training in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, digital transformation, and global integration.
HaUI also announced the formation of the Human Resources Management Office and the General Administration Office
In addition to these advancements, HaUI also announced the formation of the Human Resources Management Office and the General Administration Office. These units were created through a strategic realignment and merging of existing departments to better align with new functional responsibilities and management requirements.
The establishment of these new schools and administrative units reaffirms HaUI's commitment to educational excellence and organizational reform, preparing the institution for new challenges and opportunities in a rapidly evolving academic and socio-economic landscape.
