HaUI strengthens international cooperation at the Conference on Education-Industry collaboration among Hunan, ASEAN, Germany

From April 7 to 12, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong , Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) , led a delegation to participate in the Conference on Education–Industry Collaboration among Hunan, ASEAN, and Germany, held in Hunan Province, China.

The conference brought together more than 20 higher education institutions from ASEAN countries, dozens of enterprises from the Federal Republic of Germany, and representatives from the Hunan provincial government. As a pivotal platform for international cooperation, the event aimed to foster strategic partnerships between universities and industries, with a focus on developing high-quality human resources capable of meeting the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

At the conference, delegates engaged in dynamic exchanges and in-depth discussions on key topics including: advancing technology transfer and innovation between academia and industry; aligning training programs with market demands through practice-integrated curricula; enhancing international cooperation in education and vocational training; and formalizing strategic partnerships through the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs).

A highlight of HaUI's participation was the signing of a strategic MoU between Hanoi University of Industry and the Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Center (Hunan). This agreement sets the foundation for comprehensive cooperation across five key areas:

1. Establishing an Academic and Research Collaboration Network: Including faculty and student exchange programs, cultural immersion opportunities, and joint research projects in fields such as manufacturing, intelligent production, and digital transformation.

2. Fostering Triple Helix Collaboration: Strengthening the links between enterprises, universities, and research institutes by building shared platforms for research and innovation.

3. Developing High-Quality Human Resources: Launching joint training programs, including 2+2 and 3+1 undergraduate models, and promoting collaborative postgraduate education.

4. Sharing International Best Practices: Organizing field trips and study tours to Germany for ASEAN universities and enterprises, enabling participants to experience advanced management models and cutting-edge industrial technologies.

5. Encouraging Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Cooperating in the establishment of transnational innovation hubs to support technology transfer and the commercialization of research outcomes.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong, Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Industry and Dr. Xu Dongping, Executive Director of the Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Center (Hunan) signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

The Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Center (Hunan), located in Changsha City, is a collaborative initiative between China and Germany. Operating under the model “Government-Supported, Market-Oriented, Enterprise-Driven,” the center is managed by Germany’s Zurbrüggen Group with strong backing from the Changsha municipal government. Its mission is to promote academic exchange and joint research among China, Germany, and ASEAN countries in the field of intelligent manufacturing.

HaUI’s active participation and the signing of this strategic MoU reaffirm the university’s commitment to internationalizing education, advancing practice-oriented training, and contributing to the global innovation ecosystem.
