The multitalented male student of HaUI used to be a shy boy

Tran Phi Luc is a 21-year-old boy from Vinh Phuc Province, Vice President of the Student Association of Hanoi University of Industry. He is well-known for being a multitalented guy with high grades, a passion for science researching, and ebullient in many extracurricular activities but hardly anyone know that long before he was a shy boy and had come through an exciting “self-exploring” journey.

Break his limit

Being involved in Student Association and other student movements from the first year, Phi Luc had always taken the opportunity to develop himself. In the meantime, he is holding many titles in the Youth Union and Student Association of Hanoi University of Industry: Member of the Central Executive Committee of the HCYU, Vice President of Student Association, Chairman of The Associated Organ of Student Association - Faculty of Information and Technology, Member of Executive Committee of The Youth Union of Information & Technology Faculty.

Luc said, “I always feel happy and proud because everyone trusts and gives me important tasks of the Association and the Union.”

However, it is not from the first place that Luc is confident enough to take the position of leader in the activities of the Association and the Union. He shares “At high school, I was shy and found it hard to communicate with others. I did not involve in extracurricular activities because I felt like it was not fit with my characteristic. So, when I was just going to the university and studying at Ha Nam – a strange place to a student familiar with his friend, family, and teacher - I felt lost.”

Despite the situation, Phi Luc exerted his strength to change himself by choosing to “dive into” voluntary activities. “Thanks to the voluntary activities, I changed from a shy student to a more active and enthusiastic person. Throughout those events, I felt that I became more mature, acquired more skills like planning, holding an event, dealing with the unexpected situation... things that I was not taught in class, to sharpen my strength and limit my weakness.”

Experience from the journeys

Being a youth, Luc thinks we should live to our fullest when we are young. With the charity programs like “Everyone has Tet” at Meo Vac - Ha Giang Province, other community events, and giving food to the homeless, he is proud to contribute his part to making the life of mountainous children and the homeless less difficult.
