HaUI collaborates with Samsung Electronics Vietnam to develop high-quality workforce training programs
With over a decade of collaboration across various fields, Samsung Electronics Vietnam Thai Nguyen Co., Ltd. (Samsung Thai Nguyen) and Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) have forged a remarkable partnership. Currently, nearly 900 HaUI alumni are employed at Samsung Electronics, forming part of the company’s total workforce of 28,000 employees
The University -Enterprise collaboration model has long yielded positive outcomes for the development of both parties. It allows enterprises to select a highly qualified workforce that aligns with their recruitment needs, while educational institutions benefit from the opportunity to update practical knowledge, engage with the labor market, and provide students with internships, employment opportunities, and pathways to secure jobs after graduation.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong, Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Industry, chaired the working session with the representatives of Samsung Electronics Vietnam Thai Nguyen Co., Ltd.
Over the past decade of collaboration, Samsung has made a lasting impact on HaUI through a range of annual activities, including job fairs, company tours, and recruitment events. In the last three years, Samsung Electronics Thai Nguyen has recruited nearly 60 HaUI students and is currently organizing a series of company visits for 80 third- year and final-year students. The company has also launched internship programs and recruitment initiatives targeting final-year students and recent graduates.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong, Vice Rector of HaUI, commended the strong partnership between the two parties and expressed hope for the development of long-term and sustainable strategies in the future. He affirmed: "HaUI is a leading applied technical university in Vietnam, consistently at the forefront of innovation, creativity, and multi-disciplinary education and research with international integration. Samsung, as Korea’s top conglomerate, is a pioneer in the electronics industry. Both parties share common values, perspectives, and development goals, founded on a knowledge-based workforce combined with investments in material resources, driving sustainable growth.

Hanoi University of Industry proposed that Samsung become more deeply involved in the student training process from the early years of study. This includes providing support for scholarships, living expenses, and offering practical internships within the company. The aim is to enhance the quality of education and complete HaUI's training cycle, while also increasing both the scale and number of outstanding students who intern and secure long-term employment at Samsung.
Both HaUI and Samsung share a common development perspective, which is based on a foundation of knowledge-based human resources combined with investments in material resources to foster sustainable growth.
Mr. Ryu Il Gon, Deputy General Director of Human Resources Administration Block, Samsung Electronics Vietnam Thai Nguyen, stated: "With the rapid advancement of technology, Samsung Vietnam aims to strengthen strategic partnerships with universities in Vietnam, including Hanoi University of Industry, in fields such as information technology, automation, electrical engineering, and electronics. This collaboration will play a key role in developing a high-quality workforce capable of meeting the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Mr. Ryu Il Gon also mentioned that nearly 20% of the workforce at Samsung Electronics Vietnam Thai Nguyen are alumni of Hanoi University of Industry. These individuals are recognized for their hard work, talent, and excellence in their roles. Samsung is committed to putting forth its utmost effort in future collaborations, creating a supportive environment for student development, and further strengthening the partnership between the two parties.
