Mai Thuy - The talented Secretary with a passion for science research
“At first I think science research focuses on the macro matter, uninteresting and hard to understand. However, with the instruction from the lecturer, I know that it is the problems that stick with the real-life; it helps develop the mindset, research skills, and meta-analysis… The passion helped me create and conquer things that before I thought I could not do.” Mai Thuy - the beautiful, talented student of the Electric Engineering Faculty honored to be one of 20 female students who received the title “Typical female student in Science - Technology” of 2021.
Mai Thuy in the day received the title “Typical female student in Science - Technology” of 2021
Since high school, Mai Thuy has liked to learn natural subjects like Maths, Physics, Chemistry… and once dreamed to become a doctor. But fate had come unexpectedly when she saw images and information about Hanoi University of Industry and was impressed by it. She shares: I had spent a whole day reading about the university, the faculty and I like Computer Engineering. So, I have decided to choose the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Hanoi University of Industry to entrust my youth and carry on my dream.
“… I can remember clearly the first meeting of the whole class at Ha Nam, my class included 70 students but only 2 females. New school, new class are so strange that I kept sitting at my desk. Fortunately, the volunteers have come to talk and share their experience, introduce the activities of the students… I felt that my knowledge was wide broadened, and I was boosted with more energy. So, I bravely self-nominated for the Secretary of the Youth Union of the class, all the special marks of my student life start from that moment…”
Mai Thuy’s achievement - The typical female student in Science & Technology
My faculty has many male students so I sometimes face difficulties, but my class is very united; the male always supports 2 “Miss” of us; therefore, I can join with others and have dynamic to try to get a high grade. My lecturer advised me to carry science research and the passion was passed to me from the very first works. In the beginning, I pretty hesitate because I think doing science research would be very hard with many challenges, also the difficulty in arranging the time for study. But thanks to the encouragement of my guide lecturer and the experience from the formers, I come to science research right from my second year.
Science research actually is not so hard as I thought, it helps me gather more deep knowledge about modern technology, more than what I was taught in class. Moreover, it makes me understand more clearly the basic subject of Computer Engineering. Supported by the lecturer and other members of the research group, my passion for science researching was growing up more and more. I also have more creative ideas than before. I have researched in-depth topics about intelligence technology like AI, artificial neural networks… and other topics related to my faculty.
Besides the class hour, I also learn from documents at the university’s library, from the Internet, and many other sources. It adds to my research subject the practical, diverse and suggestive aspect.
Mai Thuy is also a beautiful Secretary of The Youth Union, actively participates in many extracurricular activities
Mai Thuy shares: “Back to 2020, when I knew that I was given the Second Prize of ‘Student carry science research of the university 2020’ and the international scholarship Niotri in 2021, I was really happy because my effort has paid off. And this year when becoming 1 of 20 female students given the title ‘Typical female student in Science - Technology’ of 2021 by HCYU Central Committee, Ministry of Science and Technology, I once again burst into happy tears.
Recently when all the student has to study online, I temporally cannot go to the university to meet the lecturers and friends, I still have plans, I still carry science research for my passion. I always think that the Covid disease is just a challenge, I need more energy, more dynamic to surpass it and keep conquering new fields.
This is my favorite quote and I give it to you all as a present: “Let’s dare to challenge yourself, free to be passionate, create, and stick to your goals”. I really hope that the disease ends soon, that all of you keep your passion stay like a blazing fire, to study for the best result and achieve new successes!
