75 Years of Student Traditions: Honoring the Past, Shaping the Future
On the morning of January 3, 2024, the Student Association of Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) organized a ceremony to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students and the Vietnam Student Association (January 9, 1950 - January 9, 2024). The event also served as an occasion to recognize and honor outstanding students who achieved the prestigious " Student with 5 Good Criteria” title at various levels.

January 9 marks a pivotal moment in history when generations of Vietnamese students courageously stood in defense of national independence and freedom. Since then, patriotism, academic excellence, and self-discipline have become guiding principles for successive student cohorts. Over the past 75 years, Vietnamese students have not only inherited this patriotic spirit but have also made significant contributions to the nation’s development and defense, reinforcing Vietnam’s image as a nation of resilience, intellectual prowess, and aspiration.
At Hanoi University of Industry, these values are continually fostered, inspiring students in their academic pursuits, research endeavors, and societal contributions. On this momentous occasion, members of the university's Student Association reflected on the 75-year journey of the Vietnam Student Association, paying tribute to the dedication and sacrifices of past generations in the struggle for national liberation and development.

Presenting the Student Association’s annual report for 2024, Ms. Trần Thị Hương Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union and President of the Student Association, underscored the remarkable accomplishments of HaUI students. The "Student with 5 Good Criteria" movement continued to serve as a cornerstone for holistic student development, encouraging comprehensive self-improvement. Volunteer initiatives such as the "Green Summer" campaign, "Exam Support Program," and "Warm Winter in Highland Regions" not only yielded tangible benefits for communities but also cultivated essential skills, solidarity, and social responsibility among students.
The activities of HaUI's Student Association have progressively aligned with students’ academic and research interests while emphasizing comprehensive personal growth. Through the association’s initiatives, students are provided with diverse opportunities to enhance their political awareness, engage in extracurricular activities, and acquire critical knowledge and skills. They have established themselves as an intellectual force, actively contributing to the university’s and society’s advancement.
Speaking at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lê Hồng Quân, Party Secretary and Chairman of the University Council, emphasized that youth and students represent a crucial driving force for innovation, propelling the nation into an era of technological advancement. The remarkable achievements of Hanoi University of Industry have consistently been linked to the invaluable contributions and dedication of its students.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lê Hồng Quân expressed confidence in the younger generation’s ability to harness their strengths, embrace innovation, and swiftly adapt within the context of global integration. HaUI students are encouraged to excel academically, master advanced technologies, acquire proficiency in foreign languages, and refine their soft skills. They are expected to participate actively in scientific research, cultural exchanges, and extracurricular engagements, demonstrating their pioneering spirit and unwavering commitment to national progress in this transformative era.
As part of the anniversary celebration, the Student Association honored 128 students who achieved the "Student with 5 Good Criteria " title at the university level for the 2023-2024 academic year, including 58 exemplary awardees. These individuals exemplify the dedication and perseverance of HaUI’s student community, serving as an inspiration for future generations to pursue academic excellence and personal growth.
