Hanoi University of Industry donates 100 million VND to support those affected by Storm No. 3
The northern provinces and cities are experiencing particularly challenging conditions due to the severe impact of Typhoon No. 3, which is considered the most intense and destructive storm in several decades. At present, heavy rain, flooding, and landslides continue to affect many areas. Many regions are struggling with disaster prevention, and recovery efforts to stabilize living conditions. The extent of the damage is currently incalculable, and the timeframe for recovery remains undetermined. Preliminary reports from some areas indicate that tens of thousands of schools have been damaged, and millions of students are unable to attend school.
Dr. Nguyen Van Thien, Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Industry, participated in the Launching Ceremony of the Education Sector to Support People Affected by Storm No. 3
In response to the appeal from the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Education Union, Hanoi University of Industry has contributed both materially and spiritually to alleviate the suffering and losses, supporting the education sector in overcoming difficulties to ensure that teaching and learning activities can resume as soon as possible. The university also aims to assist affected communities in northern provinces and cities in stabilizing, recovering production, and rebuilding their lives.
Mr. Nguyen Kim Son – Minister of Education and Training delivering a speech at the event
At the launching ceremony, Minister Nguyen Kim Son called upon the entire education sector, including officials, staff, students, and both internal and external organizations, to contribute materially and spiritually. This collective effort is intended to share the burden with those affected by the storm and flooding, particularly focusing on the education sector in the northern provinces and cities.
The Ministry of Education and Training will prioritize support for teachers and students facing difficulties with housing and transportation. Educational departments and institutions are encouraged to solicit and promote community support, including contributions from students. Even modest donations can have significant impact and serve as an important lesson in solidarity and mutual aid, teaching students the value of helping others in times of crisis.
