Hanoi University of Industry meets with Phoenix Contact, Germany about cooperation opportunities

On the morning of 5/24/2018, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) recieved a delegation of Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG, Germany - one of the biggest electrical equipment manufacturers in Europe.

Attending the meeting, on HaUI side, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Duc Quy - Rector, Dr. Bui Thi Ngan - Vice Rector and representatives from Department of International Cooperation, Department of Assess Management, Center for Mechanical Engineering, Center for Enterprise Partnership, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering Technology, Faculty of Electronics Engineering Technology and HaUI Institute of Technology. On behalf of Phoenix Contact, Mr. Klaus Hengsbach - Head of Didactic, Ing Du Pingshen - Vice President of Phoenix Contact China was present at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Duc Quy, Rector of HaUI expressed his wish to establish cooperation with Phoenix Contact in training, and transfer of equipment and technology. The rector emphasized that "Phoenix Contact has a lot of experiences in providing technological support to many universities around the world. We hope that the partnership will contribute to bringing many practical benefits to the two sides.”

Overview of the meeting

On the behalf of Phoenix Contact, Mr. Klaus Hengsbach highly appreciated the university modern facilities and the technology oriented training model that HaUI has applied. Also, he introduced the strengths of Phoenix Contact in the fields of automation, electricity, and renewable energy. With his wish to support HaUI in basic training, advanced training and training in automation, Mr. Klaus hoped the two sides will reach many agreements in the near future.

After the meeting, the two sides agreed to sign the memorandum of understanding (MOU) in which Phoenix Contact will: (1) help HaUI with basic equipment in the fields of mechanical engineering, electricity and electronics, (2) build an Automation Application Center at HaUI, and (3) arrange to participating in and support the National Engineering Conference held at HaUI in October 2018 and have in-depth exchange of training in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 with technological institutions in Vietnam.
