HaUI Fire Prevention and Fighting Team conducts fire and rescue drills

On December 18th, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Team of Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) coordinated with Bac Tu Liem district Police’s Fire Prevention & Rescue Squad to conduct the fire and rescue drills.

Attending the training session, there were Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Vice-Rector, Head of HaUI Fire Prevention and Fighting Team; Dr. Nguyen Van Thien - Vice-Rector, Head of Personnel and Administration Department; Dr. Nguyen Chi Bao - Head of Asset Management Department, Deputy Head of HaUI Fire Prevention and Fighting Team; Representatives of Bac Tu Liem district Police’s Fire Prevention & Rescue Squad and the University of Fire Fighting and Prevention; members of HaUI Fire Prevention and Fighting Team.

Speaking at the training session, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized: The university has always strictly implemented the provisions of the law on fire prevention and fighting to all officials, employees and students through many activities, thereby raising the sense of responsibility of each individual as well as the collective in the work of fire prevention and fighting, minimizing damage when an incident occurs.

In addition, the university also develops plans to deal with fires and explosions, fully invests in fire extinguishers and places signs for fire and explosion prevention and control of each building; organize a monthly inspection of firefighting equipment, maintain the electrical system.

HaUI Fire Prevention and Fighting Team prepares for a practice drill

Under the guidance of officers from the Bac Tu Liem district Police’s Fire Prevention & Rescue Force, members of the HaUI Fire Prevention and Fighting Team were introduced to the principles in handling emergencies, potential causes of fire and explosion (e.g., short circuit, leakage from gas, etc.). They also learned the appropriate steps in responding to these situations, evacuation plans and movements during a fire incident, and effective rescue methods.

Together with the Bac Tu Liem district Police’s Fire Prevention & Rescue Force, members of HaUI Fire Prevention and Fighting Team proceeded in carrying out the drill utilizing available means such as portable fire extinguishers, fire sprinklers, and fire trucks during the fire and rescue drill.

Upon the successful completion of the fire drill, members of HaUI Fire Prevention and Fighting Team have accumulated more knowledge and experience in handling emergencies contributing to the increased effectiveness of the university’s fire prevention and fighting effort.
