Meeting and assigning tasks to academic advisors
On the morning of December 14, Hanoi University of Industry held a meeting to assign tasks to the University’s academic advising team. Assoc. Prof.Dr. Tran Duc Quy - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University chaired the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Tran Duc Quy - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University affirmed that The academic advising team holds an important position, acting on behalf of the University’s leaders to answer students' academic problems, policies and many other issues. Academic advisors also act as a bridge between the University and students to bring guidelines and policies of the State and the University to students, so that they know, understand and have the right orientation and plans for themselves. Academic advisors need to improve their competence and skills; have insight into guidelines, policies and laws; have a clear understanding of the goals and development strategies of the University in order to promptly deploy them to students.

The Rector emphasized: As society is increasingly developing, digital media and social networks has grown rapidly, besides the positive sides, there are also many negative sides and unofficial information affecting young people. Therefore, the role of academic advisors is increasingly important and sets higher requirements in grasping information, processing information and transmitting information quickly, timely and accurately; solving problems of students, avoiding spreading misinformation, affecting the image and reputation of the University.
Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc - Vice Rector, Head of Training Department reported on the results of academic advising in the academic year 2020 - 2021
Also at the meeting, Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc - Vice Rector, Head of the Training Department reported on the results of academic advising for the academic year 2020 – 2021 in which emphasized the role of 158 academic advisors from the Unviersity’s faculties in supporting more than 33,000 students with learning problems, achieving remarkable results.
Comrade Hoang Thi Thanh Huyen - Deputy Head of Department of Student Affairs reported on what form teachers did in the academic year 2020 - 2021
Immediately after the meeting, the academic advising team continued to attend a training session on academic advising to better understand their responsibilities, fulfill their assigned tasks and act as a bridge between the University and students, to help students have the best learning environment at Hanoi University of Industry.
