Support for HaUI students affected by the COVID-19 pandemic

Hanoi University of Industry has implemented many activities for the last few weeks, in order to support HaUI students who are staying in Hanoi and facing difficulties during the time of social distancing to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic. Thousands of students have got support so far.

In the latest wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the university assigned the Student Affairs Department, the Youth Union, and training units to capture information and provide timely support to those who need help. For students who are staying in the dormitory, foreign students have also been supported with necessary necessities and facilitated on-site living.

Prevention measures have been applied widely, such as disinfecting the dormitory area, providing hand sanitizer for students, requiring them to distance themselves, and limiting going out. Students strictly comply with the regulations of Hanoi City and the university's rules on epidemic prevention and control.

Over the past week, numerous organizations and individuals have provided food and essential supplies to HaUI students affected by the coronavirus pandemic citywide to help them overcome difficult times during the coronavirus crisis. They could not return home due to travel restrictions issued by Hanoi government in response to a new wave of COVID-19 infections.

HaUI Youth Union join hands to share difficulties with students

Ms. Truong Thi Thanh Hoai - Secretary of the Youth Union of Hanoi University of Industry shared: The Youth Union has prepared about 1200 gifts, including rice, instant noodles, cakes, eggs and milk for the university's disadvantaged students. Those gifts were donated by HaUI lecturers, students and local generous donors.

On August 26th, the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing organized the first support gift-giving online program for 125 students who had difficulties due to the impact of the Covid 19 epidemic. The gifts were contributed by the lecturers, students, Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales-ICAEW, alumni and benefactors. Each gift is worth 500,000 VND to its students, with a total value of 59 million VND.

Speaking at the program, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Vice-Rector of HaUI shared difficulties with students and encouraged them to overcome difficulties.

The programme aims to promptly cater to their demand for necessities so that they could stand side-by-side with the city in overcoming the current pandemic hardship, he added.

Tran Thi Mai, a student of FAA, said her family is having financial difficulties and finds it hard to supply her. The gift from FAA program makes her feel happy.

Faculty of Business Management, Faculty of Chemical Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of IT, Faculty of Automotive Technology, Faculty of Tourism, Faculty of Garment Technology and Fashion Design, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Electronics, Vietnam Center Japan... also called for the support of benefactors, lecturers, students and alumni towards students who are facing difficulties.

In the context of the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, Hanoi University of Industry aims to both ensure disease prevention and control, while also taking care of the material and spiritual life of its officials, lecturers and students so that "No One is Left Behind".
