On February 18, 2025, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) hosted a working session with the Vietnam Information and Communication Technology Faculties - Schools - Institutes Club (FISU) to discuss the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in industry and interdisciplinary training. The meeting was a crucial step in preparing for the upcoming AI4Industry 2025 Conference.

The discussion focused on leveraging AI applications to enhance industrial production, optimize business operations, and integrate AI-driven solutions into cross-disciplinary and transdisciplinary education. Experts from both HaUI and FISU emphasized the need to bridge the gap between AI research and practical implementation in various sectors.

Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc, Rector of HaUI, highlighted the importance of AI in the trend of internationalizing education. HaUI has been actively applying AI in digital transformation across various fields, particularly in administration, training, and research, intending to develop a digital university towards a smart university model. HaUI has collaborated with Ming Chi University of Technology, Taiwan, on AI research, establishing joint research groups and centers to increase the number of international scientific publications and provide practical AI solutions to support business development. Notably, HaUI has partnered with Siemens Corporation to establish and operationalize the Smart Factory Center, located at the School of Mechanical Automotive Engineering. This initiative aims to enhance research, training, and industrial collaboration in smart manufacturing technologies, providing students and professionals with access to advanced AI-driven manufacturing solutions.

In 2024, HaUI made a significant mark by successfully hosting the 33rd Vietnam Student Informatics Olympiad (OLP’24), Procon, and the ICPC Asia Hanoi 2024 International Collegiate Programming Contest for the second time. These events brought together 87 universities, colleges, and academies from across the country.

Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc affirmed that HaUI will collaborate with FISU Vietnam to conduct joint research and co-organize the AI4Industry 2025 Conference. This initiative aims to promote AI applications in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary training, fostering high-quality human resources for the nation. Additionally, AI will be applied in university governance, with a long-term vision of making education a foundation for innovation.

He highlighted that the upcoming AI4Industry 2025 Conference, in collaboration with HaUI, will be a pivotal event, offering a platform for experts to discuss, share research outcomes, and exchange experiences on AI applications in higher education. It will also provide an opportunity for leading specialists to deliberate on the role of advanced AI technologies in enhancing the quality of university education in the future.
