HaUI economics students showcase their abilities at The Moneyverse
Students from the School of Economics (SE), Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), recently made a bold and confident impression at The Moneyverse - Vũ trụ đồng tiền, a reality television program hosted by VTV Times and Vietnam Television. With a strong foundation in financial knowledge, HaUI students demonstrated their academic capabilities at the event.
SE students stand out
HaUI’s economics students are well-known for their energy and initiative in academic pursuits and extracurricular activities. At The Moneyverse, these students demonstrated effective asset management skills and showcased a deep understanding of investment strategies and risk control.
Representing HaUI at The Moneyverse, Tran Thi Giang Tuyet and Nguyen Thanh Vinh distinguished themselves in the debate competition with their critical thinking and articulate arguments. Pham Thi Trang was also recognized for her excellent results in the financial knowledge quiz, showcasing her deep understanding of economic concepts.
Drawing on knowledge gained in the classroom, the SE participants applied their learning to real-life financial situations. They built sound financial plans, conducted market analyses, and selected appropriate investment channels. With confidence, teamwork, and a progressive mindset, HaUI’s economics students successfully advanced through challenging rounds of competition, leaving a strong impression and affirming their place in Vietnam’s financial education landscape.

Enhancing financial literacy among Vietnamese youth
Currently, only around 30% of Vietnamese adults are financially literate, lower than the ASEAN average of 38%. Alarmingly, despite daily access to the internet and modern technology, young people remain among the most vulnerable to online financial fraud and scams. Many Gen Z individuals, aged 12 to 27, are just beginning to earn, save, and invest, yet many struggle to manage money effectively and are often targets of illegal lending and financial crimes.
According to the organizers, The Moneyverse aims to equip students with essential money management skills - helping them invest wisely, protect their assets, and avoid financial traps. The program also seeks to ignite passion for financial literacy and investment among young people, empowering them to develop impactful projects and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s economic growth.
