On the morning of October 20, the opening ceremony of The National University Championship basketball tournament, Northern region was held at Hanoi University of Industry.

Dr. Nguyen Van Thien - Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Industry, representative of the host delivered the opening speech: Physical education and health training in the university are very important, and Basketball has always been the favorite sport of the students. He expressed his hope that the teams will have a successful tournament, bring the audiences attractive matches and keep the spirit of "fair play" throughout the competition.

Mr. Tran Xuan Kien - Director of the Center for Physical Education and Sports, Hanoi University of Industry said: this is the first time that Hanoi University of Industry has hosted a major national tournament; we are very pleased to welcome the teams to HaUI. With a multi-purpose gymnasium of more than 2,000 square meters fully equipped with national standard facilities and basketball courts, it is expected to bring audiences impressive and interesting matches.

In the Northern region, there are 40 men's teams and 9 women's teams, which will compete from October 20 to November 2 at the multi-purpose gymnasium of Hanoi University of Industry.
