Hanoi University of Industry Strengthens Collaboration with Tochigi Prefecture Enterprises, Japan
On the afternoon of November 19, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Đong, Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), presided over a meeting with a delegation from Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, led by Ms. Yoko Ishii, Director of the Department of Industry, Labor, and Tourism, Tochigi Prefecture.
Tochigi Prefecture is renowned for its robust industrial base, housing some of Japan's largest industrial zones and global corporations in sectors such as automotive, electronics, and precision machinery.
Ms. Yoko Ishii expressed her hope that the skilled workforce trained at HaUI could contribute significantly to the development of Tochigi enterprises across various fields.
This visit marked Ms. Ishii's first to Hanoi University of Industry. She expressed her delight and gratitude for the warm reception from HaUI’s leadership. Highlighting her delegation’s agenda, Ms. Ishii shared that they had met with the Foreign Investment Agency under Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment on November 18 to explore Vietnam’s investment environment. She emphasized her interest in gaining deeper insights into leading institutions like Hanoi University of Industry.

At the meeting, the Tochigi delegation introduced and exchanged information about their industries of expertise, including the production of industrial goods, automotive plastics, transportation, services, human resources, and information technology. The delegation members expressed their desire to recruit more talent, laying the foundation for sustainable cooperation and expanding partnerships with HaUI and Vietnam.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong underscored the HaUI’s commitment to addressing the growing demands of both domestic and international labor markets. HaUI has established partnerships with thousands of organizations and enterprises, both locally and globally. Through flexible solutions, HaUI has enhanced its collaboration with industries, ensuring a seamless integration of training and employment opportunities for its students. He highlighted that HaUI has received valuable support from prominent partners, including Samsung, Nissan, Foxconn, Mitsubishi, and Siemens.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Trung, Director of HaUI’s LETCO Company, affirmed LETCO’s role as a bridge for HaUI students to study and work at enterprises in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan.
In conclusion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong acknowledged the valuable insights shared by Tochigi’s officials and business representatives. He affirmed HaUI’s commitment to fostering stronger collaboration in the future.
