HaUI’s ZestAroma Project: A Circular Economy Solution Captivating Investors
On November 17, during " the Investment Networking Day and Product Showcase" organized by the Hanoi Youth Union, the ZestAroma project from Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) garnered significant attention. Investors praised its potential for growth, lauded the entrepreneurial spirit, and admired the students' passion for scientific research and their ability to translate academic knowledge into practical applications.

With its flagship product, biomass pellets, along with supplementary products derived from agricultural and forestry by-products such as biochar, smokeless compressed charcoal, essential oils, and pectin, ZestAroma's practical solutions not only promote a circular economy and environmental protection but also demonstrate social responsibility, underscoring the group's commitment to creating positive value for the community.

In May 2024, ZestAroma's project on extracting essential oils and producing compressed charcoal from citrus peels earned second prize in the National Startup Day for Students 2024 in the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries category, held in Can Tho.
Mr. Pham Hong Quat, Head of National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development (under Ministry of Science and Technology): " I am highly impressed with this biomass pellet product. Its strength lies in promoting a circular economy and contributing to society. In the future, this project is certain to achieve remarkable breakthroughs.”

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hang, a staff member of the Hanoi Museum, shared: "The museum frequently uses natural fragrances to welcome visitors. ZestAroma's essential oils are of excellent quality, and we look forward to establishing a long-term collaboration with the project team."
The event is a flagship initiative under Program No. 07 of the 17th Hanoi Party Committee, which focuses on advancing science, technology and innovation from 2021 to 2025. It also hosted the semi-finals of the 7th Global Vietnam Startup Challenge. After two months of competition, nearly 2,000 projects from eight regions (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, the USA, China, Singapore, the UK, and Australia) competed in the selection process. From the initial rounds (document review and Top 55 pitching), 35 teams advanced to the semi-finals.
The top 10 teams will compete in the finals, scheduled for December 7 in Hanoi, showcasing the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of Vietnam’s youth.
