Proud of the Vocational Skills of HaUI Students in the International Arena
Students of the School of Mechanics and Automobile Engineering (SMAE), Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), have once again proven their excellence by making significant achievements at the prestigious World Skills Competition. Their accomplishments have placed Vietnam on the map, showing the world the potential and talent of young Vietnamese professionals.
In 2019, student Pham Van Quoc from HaUI earned an excellent CNC Turning certificate, demonstrating his high skill level and potential in the field. This achievement was an early indication of the capabilities of HaUI students, and it set the tone for future successes.

The momentum continued in 2022 when the Vietnamese delegation shined brightly with their impressive skills and dedication. The delegation secured two Silver Medals at the World Skills Competition, and both medals were brought home by HaUI students. Nguyen Thanh Tung demonstrated his outstanding proficiency in CNC Milling, while Nguyen Xuan Thai displayed his expertise in CNC Turning. This was the best performance by the Vietnamese delegation in the past 15 years.

The success story did not end there. At the recently concluded 47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, France, in 2024, HaUI students once again brought pride to Vietnam. Pham Thanh Dat was the only contestant from Vietnam to win a medal, securing a Bronze Medal in the CNC Milling category with an impressive score of 729, just six points short of the Gold Medal. Additionally, contestant Cu Huy Hieu was awarded an excellent vocational certificate in CNC Turning, adding yet another feather to the school’s cap.
