Workshop on "Commercialization of Scientific Research Results in Universities"

The workshop on “Commercialization of Scientific Research Results in Universities” held on the afternoon of November 22 at Hanoi University of Industry provided a platform for in-depth discussions on critical issues. These included policies and emerging trends in the commercialization of scientific research, real-world practices in transforming research outcomes into market-ready innovations and university-based startups, as well as the challenges and barriers that impede the commercialization process.

Scientific research serves as a cornerstone of higher education institutions, playing a vital role in their academic and societal missions. The commercialization of research outcomes has emerged as a dynamic avenue for fostering university-business partnerships, bridging the gap between theory and practice. This collaboration empowers faculty and students to translate innovative research findings into university curricula, driving advancements in teaching and significantly elevating the quality of education and training programs.

Aiming to accelerate the transfer of academic knowledge to the marketplace and support the growth of entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystems within universities, the workshop serves as a dynamic platform for collaboration. It connects scientists, experts, and businesses, enabling them to share insights, explore solutions, and shape sustainable development strategies for scientific research results. By bridging the gap between academic research and its commercialization, the event fosters the transition of groundbreaking innovations from universities to enterprises and the broader community, driving meaningful impact and long-term progress.
