2016 – 2021 Rector Appointment Ceremony

On January 29th, 2016, Hanoi University of Industry held a solemn ceremony to announce the decision to appoint the university rector for the period of 2016 - 2021. The participants included Mr. Tran Tuan Anh – the Commissioner of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the comrades representing the Party Committee of Hanoi Industrial Division, Department of personnel Organization, Human Resource Development Department – the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the university’s Governing Board and key leaders.

On behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Deputy Minister Tran Tuan Anh handed the Decision to reappoint Associate Professor Tran Duc Quy to be the university rector.

Over the past 30 years at the university, Assoc. Prof. and Dr. Tran Duc Quy has held a number of positions, namely Vice-Dean, Dean, Vice Rector and most recently, Rector. In whatever position, Assoc. Prof. and Dr. Tran Duc Quy has proven to be an exemplary staff and leader who has significantly contributed to the increasingly sustainable development of the university. Rector Tran Duc Quy, with excellent leadership capabilities, friendliness and modesty has been strongly trusted by the university staff and the university Communist Party and other governing board members. As such, Assoc. Prof. and Dr. Tran Duc Quy was proposed and reappointed to be the Rector of HaUI in the second term (2016-2021) by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister Tran Tuan Anh, the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Governing Boards congratulated Rector Tran Duc Quy on this occasion. He stressed that the recent development of the Hanoi University of Industry was the clearest evidence for Rector’s leadership capacities, proper development orientation. The MoIT’s Governing Boards strongly agreed with this reappointment which expressed their beliefs, desire and responsibility and at the same time their assignment to Rector Tran Duc Quy. Besides, Rector Tran Duc Quy was hoped to continue to lead and build up the university unity, excellently complete every mission, and develop the university into the leading educational institution of the Industry and Trade Sector and nation.

As the university’s highest leader, Rector Tran Duc Quy expressed his thanks to the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Governing Board, the Party Committee of Hanoi Industry Party Sector, the university’s Committee, the Governing Board for their trust. He hoped to receive the continuous support from these bodies and the university key leaders and staff. He promised to lead solidarity, promote the tradition and collective wisdom, build and develop the university into the leading educational institution of the Industry and Trade Sector and nation accordance with international integration trend.
