The three events including the 115th anniversary of establishment of Hanoi University of Industry, Ho Chi Minh Medal award and New academic year 2013-2014 were organized at the multi-purpose hall, HaUI on November 1st, 2013.

Nguyen Tan Dung, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Prime Minister of Vietnamese Government, Tran Duc Luong, former member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee Communist Party of Vietnam, former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Vu Huy Hoang, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Minister of Industry and Trade, Phan Xuan Dung, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, chairman of National Assembly Committee for Science, Technology and Environment, together with representatives from different Ministries and state agencies including Education and Training, Planning and Investment, Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Government Inspectorate, leaders of provinces and cities including Hanoi, Ha Nam, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, international guests, directors of enterprises, rectors of institutes, internal and external universities and colleges as well as leaders of districts, communes and state units having long standing partnership and friendship with the university participated in the ceremony.

On HaUI side, Rector Dr. Tran Duc Quy, member of the committee of the communist party of Vietnam in Haui, the Management Board, Standing Committee of the Trade Union, Youth Union, heads of Departments and Faculties, formers heads of the university, the whole staff and students participated in the ceremony.
Also, correspondents from Press agencies both central and local level were present at the ceremony.

On behalf of the staff, students, and the management Board, Rector Dr. Tran Duc Quy made a welcome speech and gave a brief introduction about the university to PM Nguyen Tan Dung, the distinguished guests, teachers, officials and students. Besides the history and development of the university, the rector also highlighted some outstanding achievements, honorable awards gained by the university. In his speech, the rector emphasized the key missions in the new academic year and appealed to the teachers and students to uphold the traditional solidarity, and keep effective teaching and learning in order to achieve striking results, successfully implement the development strategies as well as successfully complete the missions of the new academic year.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung awarded Ho Chi Minh Medal to the university for the continuous efforts of the officials, teachers and students for over 115 years. At the ceremony, PM also presented the 3rd Labour Medals to Department of Student Affair, Letco Company and Mr. Ha Ba Tien, Head of Department of Student Affair for the superior performance and devotion to duty from 2008 – 2012, contributing to the construction of socialism and defense of the nation as well as the title of the National “Chien Sy Thi Dua” (National emulation fighter) to Rector Dr. Tran Duc Quy.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf the Government, PM Nguyen Tan Dung congratulated the university, teachers, officials, and students and hailed the outstanding achievements gained by the university.

To bring HaUI to a higher level, PM Nguyen Tan Dung requested that officials, teachers and students promote the 115 year history of the university, spirit of solidarity, creativeness, and activeness in applying the policies of the communist party, the State, Government Ministries, and local authorities to the real situation of the university. Also, PM urged the university to make full use of all resources, enhance international integration, accelerate scientific research and technology transfer and expand close relation with enterprises, industrial zone factories, research institutes and other universities to learn more experience for the development of the university. After his speech, PM beat the drum to mark the opening of the new school year.
To commend and encourage the positive attitude to learning, the rector, at the ceremony granted certificates of merit and gifts to students who came first in the 2013 entrance exam and who got excellent results in the 2013 National Olympic contest in Maths, Physics, and Mechanics.

On behalf of over 40,000 students, Vu Thi Hien, Class 2 – Intake 8, Faculty of Business Administration expressed her feelings before the start of the new academic and presented a bouquet of flowers to the Rector.

At the ceremony, 20 collectives and individuals raised a VND 200 million fund for Nguyen Thanh Binh study encouragement program of the university.
The ceremony for 115 anniversary of establishment of Hanoi University of Industry, Ho Chi Minh Medal awarding and new academic school year was successfully held, not only leaving a good impression on distinguished guests, officials and students but also creating a jubilant and exciting environment before a promising new academic year.
