Internship in Japan from Oshima Shipbuilding

To support students with internship opportunities at Japan, Hanoi University of Industry in collaboration with Oshima Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. organized 2016 internship. As one of Japan's leading shipbuilders, Oshima Shipbuilding has subsidized Daizo Tech Co., Ltd in Vietnam specializing in ship designing.

After interviewing, Tran The Trung from Electrical Engineering fast-track class was selected among intake 8 students of Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Internship program lasted from July, 12th to August, 6th at Oshima Shipbuilding Company (based in Saikai, Nagasaki, Japan). During the internship, the participant was provided the entire round-trip air ticket, travel expenses in Japan, food, accommodation, health insurance, visa fee and living allowance of1,000 yen/ day.

Below is Trung's refection about his useful and memorable time in Japan:

"I am Tran The Trung from Electrical Engineering fast-track class, intake 8. During the last summer, I was selected by Hanoi University of Industry and Daizo Company to be in internship in Oshima Shipbuilding Company in Japan. During those days, I had chances to receive support and warm welcome from Vietnamese and Japanese officers. 24-day time was not a long time but leaving a lot of memories for me as well as deep impression on Japan and its local people.

In Oshima, I worked in a very professional environment. People here are very sociable, friendly, in good sense and high discipline. I was trained the basic skills of reading, and checking electrical system drawings of ships drawing board, Besides, they also introduced me to facilities on ships and invited me to visit the whole factory. More interestingly, I had a great chance to experience a 3 day and 2 night cruise. What an exciting feeling!

I found the program a wonderful opportunity for students to turn theories at university into practice; access to Japanese technology; exchange ideas and get acquainted with new friends; experience Japanese life, country and people... I hope this rewarding internship program will be held annually for students of the following courses. "
