MOU signing ceremony between Hanoi University of Industry and Association of Certified Charter Accountants (ACCA)

On 27^th June 2018, the Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) and ACCA Vietnam was organized at Hanoi Univeristy of Industry.

Attending the signing ceremony, from ACCA there were Mr. Leo Lee - President of ACCA Global, Ms. Soo Yee Leong - Director of ACCA, ASEAN & ANZ, Ms. Chau Nguyen - Head of ACCA Mekong, Ms. Chi Nguyen - Head of ACCA Hanoi, Ms. Hau Le - Head of Education, ACCA Mekong, Ms. Hanh Le - Business Relation Manager, ACCA Vietnam and Mr Vu Duc Nguyen - Deputy General Manager of Deloitte Vietnam, ACCA committee member. On HaUI side, there were Assoc.Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Quy - Rector of HaUI, Dr. Bui Thi Ngan - Vice rector, Mr. Dang Ngoc Hung - Dean of Faculty of Accounting & Auditing (FAA), Ms. Tran Thi Dung and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga - Vice Dean of FAA and Lecturers of FAA present at the ceremony.

At the meeting, the two parties introduced and shared information about their staff, training and research capacity, and strengths based on which they would be able to jointly promote cooperation in education, training and research and orient students towards success in accountancy and finance.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Quy welcomed all the delegates from ACCA. He said the agreement between HaUI and ACCA is to meet the increasing demand for certified experts in accounting and finance in not only Vietnam but also other ASEAN countries. Indeed, in recent years, the two sides have implemented very meaningful and effective activities. It is a precious opportunity for teachers and students to study, and pursue their dream careers. The rector believed that this MOU signing will mark the two sides' cooperation and open new opportunities for cooperation in the future.

Mr. Leo Lee was delighted to visit HaUI and thanked HaUI Board of Management for its hospitality. He said that he was very impressed with the achievements of the university and appreciated the position of the HaUI in Vietnam. According to the ACCA President, ACCA will continue to cooperate with HaUI to develop a high quality accounting and finance training program, building a skillful workforce in accounting and auditing who adhere to the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.

A Memorandum of Understanding between the two sides opens a new phase in the cooperation between HaUI and ACCA for the common goal of developing the accounting sector in Vietnam.

The two parties pledged to maintain a cooperative working relationship based on cooperation agreements including: (1) Provide access to ACCA professional development and learning resources. (2) Learning and development initiatives. (3) Jointly develop strategies and marketing campaigns to promote the global collaboration between HaUI and ACCA. (4) Work collaboratively and carry out joint engagement and outreach to promote and create awareness about ACCA trainings, qualification, ACCA-X, master’s programme and other relevant trainings. (5) Joint partnership programmes supporting the training and development of students to prepare them for successful careers in accountancy and finance. (6) Explore and create new pathways for students to further their education and enhance their careers in accountancy and finance. (7) Enhance the employability of students through capacity building initiatives. (8) Tap into one another’s networks of professional àn industry contacts to support the above objectives.
