Nearly 100 students participated in the 2024 Mechanics Olympic Competition
On the morning of March 23, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Mechanics Olympic Competition took place at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), with close to 100 students participating across 8 fields.
The Mechanics Olympic Competition is an annual event organized by Hanoi University of Industry.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Pham Van Dong - Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Industry and Head of the organizing committee, emphasized the significant role of the Mechanics Olympic Competition in fostering academic learning and research within the HaUI student community. He highlighted how the competition aids the university in identifying, nurturing, and encouraging young talents passionate about mechanics to develop and excel in their specialized field.
Representing the contestants, Tran Ba Anh – a student from the Mechanical Engineering Technology class 3 K17, expressed gratitude to the organizing committee of the competition, and the faculty members for providing students with opportunities to explore intellectual knowledge in the field of Mechanics.
The 2024 Mechanics Olympic Competition featured nearly 100 participants from the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering competing in 8 fields: technical mechanics, material strength, principles of machines and machine components, computer applications in machine components, computer applications in technical mechanics, computer applications in material strength, and computer applications in principles of machines.
Luong Thi Van Hong – a student from the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology class 3 K17, stated that participating in the Mechanics Olympic competition not only allows access to advanced specialized knowledge but also provides an opportunity to achieve outstanding scores for corresponding courses if achieving third place or higher.
Contestants who achieve high results in the competition will receive training from the organizing committee to participate in the national competition scheduled for May 2024.
In the Mechanics Olympic national-level competitions from 2009 to 2023, the Hanoi University of Industry team consistently achieved impressive results, winning a total of 125 medals, including 5 gold, 20 silver, and 100 bronze medals. Most recently, at the 33rd National Mechanics Olympic Competition in 2023, HaUI secured 3 team awards, including 1 first prize and 2 second prizes, along with 30 individual awards, comprising 3 silver medals and 27 bronze medals.
