Running event raises funds for underprivileged students

On the morning of October 6, 2024, nearly 250 athletes gathered for the annual charity run organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI). This meaningful event, designed to raise funds for students facing difficult circumstances, saw enthusiastic participation from business representatives, faculty staff, lecturers, students, and alumni of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

Building on the success of previous years, all united in their mission to support and uplift underprivileged students. Among the participants was former student Ha Van Chien, now the Director of HC Vietnam Company. Reflecting on the experience, he proudly shared, "This is the second time I have participated in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering run, and I feel both honored and proud. Not only does this event provide an opportunity to exercise and connect with others, but it also allows me to contribute in a small yet meaningful way to spreading human values by supporting scholarships for students in difficult circumstances who are committed to improving their academic performance."

The event also attracted families eager to join the cause. Do Thi Bich Hanh and Ngo Ba Doan, from the Center for Automotive Technology and Driver Training at HaUI, participated with their family members. "Our family loves engaging in social and community activities together. It’s a way to share love and strengthen our bond," they said, brimming with excitement. "This is the second time our whole family has taken part in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering's race, and we couldn’t be happier."

The race provided not only an opportunity for physical fitness but also a platform for participants to demonstrate solidarity and compassion. The funds raised from this event will go towards scholarships for deserving students in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, providing them with much-needed financial support to continue their studies and pursue their dreams.

This year’s run covered three race distances: 10km, 5km, and 2.5km, offering opportunities for participants of all fitness levels. In recognition of the athletes’ efforts, the organizers awarded prizes to top performers across all three distances.
