The 11th 5S week’s opening ceremony

On the afternoon of April 25th, 2016, the 11th 5S week’s opening ceremony was held by Hanoi University of Industry’s 5S Committee.

With the theme “5S and Workplace Safety”, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan – HaUi’s Vice Rector – required all school units to ensure safety while working and studying, then implemented the plan of the 11th 5S Week at the university.

In addition to the opening speeches, there were also the contributions of three exemplary units and organizations including Faculty of Automotive Technology, Library and Information Center, and the Youth Union. With their particular features, all these units and organizations have successfully maintained 5S activities.

According to the plan, 5S Committee worked in all the units from April 26th to April 28th, 2016.

Recently, the Committee has announced the regulations and criteria in evaluating 5S activities in 2016. According to the announcement, 5S Week and 5S Day activities will be continued and there will be two 5S Weeks - in April and in October. The 25th of every month was chosen to be 5S Day.

Every month, the 5S Committee of each unit actively examines and evaluates its 5S implementation based on the general criteria and then reports the results to the School 5S Committee. After that, the School 5S Committee will monthly examine and evaluate the implementation of 5S in these units. Evaluation results will be calculated according to the inspection team and the results of self-evaluation of the units.

After six years of implementation, 5S activities have brought practical benefits to the university: Green and clean pedagogical landscape and space, improving students’ awareness of abiding the rules, high appreciation of cooperation partners for the school's learning environment, its order, and working and learning styles. It is obvious that 5S activities have been bringing practical values to the university.
