On the morning of October 20th, Faculty Electrical Engineering, Hanoi University of Industry organized "Inauguration ceremony of scientific research initiative and Robocon of Electrical Engineering students for 2016-2017 academic year”. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the university, departments, standing Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and representatives of Youth Unions -Student's Union; Heads of the Divisions, class head teachers and 600 students.
The program aimed at reviewing and evaluating the results of scientific research & Robocon during 2015 - 2016 academic year of students from Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and providing useful information on the basis of discussion and information exchange between students and faculty to solve any problems students encounter while conducting scientific research and manufacturing Robots. The activity launched and promoted the spirit of learning and scientific research for 2016- 2017 academic year in the department.
At the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan - Associate Dean of Electrical Engineering faculty, on behalf of the Boards of Management, reported and summarized the activities of conducting research & Robocon during 2015 - 2016 academic year and presented the plan for 2016-2017 academic year. He also announced a list of businesses making contributions to “Fund for supporting learning and conducting scientific research for students of Electrical Engineering faculty for 2016-2017 academic year”.
From 2010 to 2016, the student scientific research movement has been widely spread in the faculty. Twenty one scientific projects have been approved by the Research Council of the university. Many of those are highly evaluated. Notably, 1 student’s research project was awarded the second prize and one got the third prize in 2016. For 2017, the faculty has received 10 scientific research projects at University level registered by students. Currently the group of students and teachers are actively conducting the research to report their findings at the scientific conference on the occasion of celebrating the founding of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union 03/26/2017 and Student Scientific Conference University level held in May 4/2017.
As for the robot invention initiative, Faculty of Electrical Engineering has been traditionally known for high achievement at university national competitions. In 2015 and 2016, the faculty had two teams which entered the national 1/16 round. To prepare the team for different levels in 2017 competitions, from May 2016, the faculty has provided training to hundreds of students who love creating robots. After the qualifying round, the faculty has selected 7 teams for the final round at the faculty level which took place on the occasion of Vietnamese teacher's day 20.11.2016.
Those achievements are made possible with tremendous emotional and practical support from departments, university’s Boards of Management and businesses. Besides, the department has also been proactive in promoting activities for students and made great efforts in helping them practice, research and periodically testing their progress.
It can be said that "Inauguration ceremony of scientific research initiative and Robocon of Electrical Engineering students for 2016-2017 academic year " was successful, useful and had high practical values; contributed greatly to promoting students’ efforts in research & Robocon.
