“IT Festival 2016” is an annual event which has been organized since 2013 with the aim of creating a useful playground for IT loving students, boosting aspiration for learning and scientific research, encouraging creativity and teamwork of IT majored students with talents. The festival is also a great opportunity for students to strive for achievements to commemorate the 126th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday (19/5/1890 – 19/5/2016); National Assembly Representative and People’s Committee Representative Election. With the approval of University’s Party Committee and Boars of Management; the IT Student Council has organized the “IT Festival 2016” with the following competitions: Creative Software, Graphic Design, Game Development, Computer Assembling and Programming “PC-CUP”, game competition “IT-Game”, “IT Arena”
The “Graphic Design” has opened for a series of activities that follow. Students have the chance to design their products on three major platforms: PhotoShop CS6, Illustrator CS6, Corel X6 (the participants may select from the three programs or utilize all three of them for the final product).

With a total time of 120 minutes Dang Dinh Tung from IT 4 (16th class) has been awarded the first prize. The winning piece of work, displayed on an A4 sheet of paper, has captured the Vietnamese youth’s unyielding spirit and dedication toward our country’s sacred seas and islands.

With highly creative products, the “Creative Software” competition has enabled students to present innovative solutions to address learning problems and serve entertainment purposes, rely on free and open-sources to develop products which are highly practical.

The “PC Assembly” competition is considered the most exciting and intense. The competing teams strive to assemble a computer set in the shortest time possible. The maximum time for completing is 20 minutes. For each round, 6 teams compete with each other, the team with the shortest time of completion gains entry to the final round. Each team is provided with the following equipment: crimping tool, connection tester and 2 PC sets.

“IT arena” is a highly suitable activity for students and is potentially becoming a useful and wholesome playground for students to have relaxing moments after school hours. Notably, the winning team from the competition will receive meaningful prizes from the organizers.

“IT Festival 2016” ended in thunderous rounds of applause for winning and successful teams of the event. Hopefully, this event shall serve as a useful playground for students and help them have relaxing moments after long hours studying in classrooms. Furthermore, the festival shall encourage them to further their study and scientific research while making an effort to develop technological products, thereby achieving great success in their future career.
