National Science Seminar: "Research and Training in Accounting and Auditing"

On the morning of 7^th September, Hanoi University of Industry held the 2nd National Science Seminar in Accounting & Auditing "Research and Training in Accounting and Auditing". Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Vice Rector of HaUI, chaired the workshop.

Attending the workshop, there were staffs, lecturers, scientists from HaIU and many other universities such as Vietnam University of Commerce, University of Economics and Business – Vietnam National University, University of Economic and Technical Industries, Foreign Trade University, National Economics University, Lac Hong University, Ho Chi Minh University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh Open University, University of Economics and Law – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh, Thuyloi University, University of Labor and Social Affairs, Thai Nguyen University of Economics, Trade Union University, Auditing Magazine, ACCA Vietnam, Thai Nguyen College of Economics & Finance.

The seminar aims to provide scientists, researchers, lecturers and PhD students with valuable opportunities to exchange expertise as well as experiences during the course of teaching and studies of accounting and auditing practices. It is also a forum for lecturers and scientists to exchange views and acquire new knowledge on accounting and auditing in Vietnam in the context of the national integration and participation in new trade agreements.

Overview of the Seminar

After the blind review process, 37 high-quality papers out of 62 papers submitted were selected to be presented at the workshop. Overall, the chosen papers were of highly practical and scientific value, providing the business sector and the management agencies an objective view to make suitable plans or appropriate policies for a more stable and sustainable Vietnamese economy.

The workshop was divided into two sessions: plenary session and parallel sessions. The plenary session consists of two presentations:

- "Sustainable development and the role of Accounting - research in Vietnam" delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh - Dean of Accounting Faculty - Da Nang University of Economics

- "Strengthening human resources capacity in accounting and finance in the digital era" delivered by Ms. Nguyen Viet Nga - Deputy general manager of NexiaSTT firm

The parallel sessions took place in 03 conference rooms with the following topics:

- Financial accounting and financial reporting

- Management Accounting
