Dr. Dang Thu Ha – A lecturer of Accounting and Auditing Faculty: “Teaching is not a profession, it is a passion”

During more than 10 years working as a lecturer, Dr. Dang Thu Ha – a lecturer of Accounting and Auditing Faculty, Hanoi University of Industry has always been enthusiastic and spreading her passion to generations of students. Her love for teaching has become a strong motivation to strive, devote and give all her love to her students.

We had the opportunity to meet Dr. Dang Thu Ha on a sunny day in the autumn of October to listen to her stories about her life and passion for teaching profession.

Ms. Ha shared: “On the first teaching days in 2010, financial accounting was the first subject I taught and I was quite nervous when standing on the podium. At first, it was quite stressful, but thanks to the encouragement and enthusiasm of the students, I became more confident and completed the lecture well."

She added: in order for students to be interested in learning, teachers should give students as many opportunities as possible to unleash their creativity. Nowadays, students are very active and have the spirit of self-learning, so she herself always explores and innovates teaching methods to make her lectures more interesting. She always keeps in mind that: every day at school is a happy day. In every classroom, both teachers and students are learning from each other, not simply transferring knowledge one way.

She always asks herself: "How to find the most suitable teaching method to make students interested in learning so that they can be more confident and master the subjects", when students are fully equipped with knowledge, they can control their own future.”

She is always close to her students, so students love and respect her. Ms. Ha remembers all the messages sent to her by students when they finished the subject she taught.

The messages of student Nguyen Quynh Nga - Accounting class 3, Cohort 13 made Ms. Ha very happy and emotional: “I still remember the first days when I met you; my impression of you is that you are a friendly and helpful teacher. With all your love, you inspired me to study. You made my student life so colorful. You not only taught me and my friends the knowledge in the book, but also taught us how to treat people, live for ourselves and for everyone. I want to say thank you and love you so much…”

Ms. Ha shared: the best gift that students give her is to study hard and succeed in the future. That is the motivation for her to continue to devote, nurture the fire of enthusiasm and passion for the noble teaching career.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Dang Thu Ha also spends a lot of time on scientific research. “The Faculty of Accounting and Auditing, Hanoi University of Industry is the cradle that nurtures her passion for scientific research. Here, she always receives the support from the school's leaders, the faculty and colleagues. The process of carrying out scientific research activities is a good opportunity for lecturers to have opportunities to foster scientific research capacity, to contribute to the development of creativity, the ability to work independently, to cultivate knowledge and scientific cognitive methods” Ms Ha shared.

With enthusiasm and passion for research, Dr. Dang Thu Ha has had 15 scientific articles published in prestigious domestic and international scientific journals and scientific reports at domestic and international conferences.

She also participates in researching some science and technology topics such as: a ministerial-level project “A study on the influence of independent audit on the tax compliance level of taxpayers"; Provincial project “A study on some factors affecting business performance of enterprises in Nam Dinh Province". In addition, Dr. Dang Thu Ha also participated in compiling the Public Accounting textbook - a learning document for school students.

In the academic year 2020 - 2021 and 2021 - 2022, two groups of students conducting scientific research under the guidance of Dr. Dang Thu Ha won the first prize of the University-level scientific research student award.

Talked about the hobbies, Dr. Dang Thu Ha shared: she likes reading and traveling. She was interested in the book "Start with Why?" by Simon Sinek. Books act as a reminder of the importance of exploring and learning the world around. Only learning can make life better and better every day. She always tries to learn more to inspire generations of students.
