Grand Finale of English Contest "Let's Go"

On January 7th, 2020, the English contest “Let’s Go” with the theme “Students with environment and anti-climate change” was took place at Hall A11, Hanoi University of Industry.

The contest organized by HaUI Youth Union in coordination with the Faculty of Foreign Language aims to create an environment for exchanging, studying, improving knowledge and foreign language skills, helping HaUI students to be more confident in the learning process, practicing and starting a business later.

Attending the event, there was the presence of Dr. Bui Thi Ngan - Vice Rector of HaUI, Ms. Truong Thi Thanh Hoai - Secretary of HaUI Youth Union, Ms. Do Huyen Cu - Vice President of HaUI Trade Union and representatives of the Faculty of Foreign Language. Besides, there was the presence of more than 500 teachers and students.

Delivering an Opening speech at the Finale, Dr. Bui Thi Ngan - HaUI’s Vice Rector stated: Hanoi University of Industry always wants and encourages students to participate in foreign language competitions to improve and enhance foreign knowledge and skills. For many years, the Youth Union has coordinated well with faculties to organize many useful playgrounds for students. One of them is Let’s Go contest. The competition is not only to help students improve their English skills, but also has chances to access to society and environment knowledge.

The final night took place with the participation of 05 teams

The final round of the Contest with the theme "Students with environment and anti-climate change" witnessed the competition of 05 best teams who were selected from nearly 1,000 candidates from 13 faculties, training centers, including: Faculty of Business Management; Faculty of Electronics Engineering Technology; Faculty of Garment Technology and Fashion Design; Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​and Faculty of Electrical Engineering Technology.

At the final night, all teams battled through 3 rounds: "Greeting", "Knowledge" and "Project Pitching".

Round 1 "Greeting": In this section each team will introduce themselves in English through different performances to introduce the team, their members and the message they bring to the Contest in a maximum of 05 minutes.

Round 2 " Knowledge": In this round, our teams will display their knowledge and understanding about topics that “Students with environment and anti-climate change” announced earlier through the questions of the Contest.

Each group will answer a question pack of 10 questions, after the host has provided questions and answers, the teams will raise their answer board, the time for each question is 10 seconds; Each correct answer gets 2 points, incorrect answer or does not provide a solution for 0 points..

The presentation of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Round 3

Round 3 “Project Pitching”: Each team will present about a project focusing on the main topic: Environment and Climate Change. The project pitching is presented in creative forms, in a maximum of 10 minutes.

After 3 exciting rounds, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering excellently won the First prize. The Second prize was belonged to the Faculty of Garment Technology and Fashion Design; the Faculty of Electronics Engineering Technology gained Third Prize. The Consolation Prize was awarded to 2 teams: the Faculty of Foreign Language and Faculty of Business Management.
