Vietnam Conference on Accounting & Auditing 2023

Vietnam Conference on Accounting and Auditing (VCAA) 2023 themed "Accounting and Auditing in the Digital Economy and International Integration," took place at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) on the morning of October 7th.

VCAA 2023 attracted the participation of reseachers from nearly 30 universities, academies, and professional organizations nationwide that offer education in accounting and auditing. It features 150 research papers from scholars, lecturers, and managers across the country, with the involvement of nearly 300 authors from 41 educational institutions.

Speaking at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong, Vice Rector of HaUI, emphasized: "The conference serves as a forum to connect passionate scientists and researchers, fostering interactions and discussions on critical issues in accounting and auditing research, education, and professional practice in Vietnam, within the context of the digital economy and international integration. This conference provides an opportunity for scientists to share practical experiences, support each other in enhancing their professional knowledge, and advancing in-depth scientific research.

After a thorough peer review process, 122 scientific reports have been recommended for inclusion in the conference proceedings. High-quality papers will be selected for publication in a special issue of the Accounting and Auditing section of the Science & Technology Journal at Hanoi University of Industry. This conference focused on topics such as digital transformation in the fields of accounting and auditing; accounting and auditing in the context of globalization; training accounting and auditing human resources to meet the demands of the digital economy; and the role of accounting, auditing, and financial information in the economy.

Through this conference, research and educational activities in economic-focused universities and institutions in Vietnam, particularly Hanoi University of Industry, are expected to undergo continuous innovation and improvement. Educational administrators will seek solutions to enhance and update the accounting and auditing training programs to align with the digital transformation trend, moving toward the goal of international integration.

During the opening session, three presentations were delivered by the researchers from Accounting and Auditing Faculty, ACCA, and MISA Joint Stock Company, addressing various prominent issues and challenges facing the accounting and auditing industry during the era of international integration.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, CEO of Nexia STT, a long-standing ACCA member, presented on "The Digital Era - Technology and Challenges of Independent Auditing in the International Integration Process "

Mr. Nguyen Phi Nghi, Director of the Hanoi Representative Office, MISA Joint Stock Company, presented on "Digital Transformation in SMEs: Insights from the Finance and Accounting Department."

The conference was divided into three subcommittees focusing on the following topics: Digital transformation in the fields of Accounting and Auditing, Accounting and Auditing in the context of globalization, and the role of Accounting, Auditing, and Finance in the economy.
