Scientific Workshop on Invention Activities from the Perspective of TRIZ
On July 5, 2024, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) hosted a scientific conference titled "Invention Activities from the Perspective of TRIZ." The event garnered significant attention, attracting numerous scientists, experts, lecturers, and students involved in invention and technological innovation.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham Van Dong, Vice Rector of HaUI, inaugurated the conference with an insightful speech emphasizing the pivotal role of TRIZ (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) in enhancing invention and technological innovation in Vietnam. He highlighted that TRIZ is not only an invaluable tool for inventors but also serves as a robust foundation for developing innovative products and solutions. The HaUI leadership firmly believes that the adoption of TRIZ methodologies can significantly propel Vietnam’s technological advancements and innovative capabilities.
The workshop aimed to equip attendees with a fundamental understanding of creativity through the lens of TRIZ. TRIZ is a comprehensive system of methods and skills designed to improve productivity and efficiency, reduce costs, cultivate high-quality human resources, and foster long-term creative thinking. This theory of creative problem-solving has been adopted by numerous companies and organizations worldwide, proving its effectiveness in driving innovation.
Several notable presentations were delivered during the conference, each shedding light on different aspects of TRIZ and its applications:
"Some Examples of TRIZ Application in Technology Innovation" by MSc. Nguyen Minh Tan, Deputy Director of the Library Information Center, HaUI. This report showcased practical instances where TRIZ principles were effectively applied to technological innovations, providing tangible benefits and improvements.
"Creative Teaching in Universities in the US" by Dr. Tran Luong Son, Lecturer at the State University of New York (USA). Dr. Son shared his experiences and insights on incorporating creative teaching methodologies within university curricula in the United States, highlighting the impact of such approaches on fostering innovation among students.
"TRIZ with Invention Activities" by Dr. Doan Minh Dang from IAV GmbH, Federal Republic of Germany. Dr. Dang discussed how TRIZ principles are integrated into invention activities, emphasizing the method's capacity to streamline the innovation process and enhance the development of new inventions.
"Innovative Products, Breakthroughs for Businesses: Fendi Case" by Mr. Trinh Dinh Long, Chairman of Amica Consulting Company. Mr. Long illustrated the application of TRIZ in creating innovative products and achieving business breakthroughs, using the Fendi case as a prominent example.
The event underscored the importance of TRIZ in driving technological innovation and creativity, offering a clear pathway for Vietnamese inventors and organizations to achieve significant advancements. As emphasized by the speakers, the adoption and integration of TRIZ methodologies can serve as a powerful catalyst for innovation, fostering a culture of creativity and problem-solving that is essential for progress in the modern technological landscape.
