In the morning of April 17th, 2013, Dr. Tran Duc Quy, Rector of HaUI, and Dean of International Cooperation and Training Faculty warmly welcomed Dr. Glyn Littewood – Director of International Development Program and Dr. Alan Johnston – Lecturer of Business Management School of York St John, United Kingdom.
In April 2012, the leaders of HaUI and York St John University negotiated and signed a training cooperation project for Business Management. The Bachelor’s degree in Business Management is awarded by York St John University, United Kingdom.
To implement the training project, both sides carried out many activities. From April 8th to April 17th, a training course for the lecturers of International Cooperation and Training Faculty was delivered by Prof. Glyn Littlewood and Prof. Alan Johnston.
At the meeting, York St John University Delegation evaluated the Staff Development program at HaUI. The delegation highly appreciated the efforts of the HaUI executive committee and teachers who participated in the program. Also, they expressed their belief in the ability of HaUI teachers who joined the training program.
In the friendly and pleasant atmosphere, York St John University delegation proposed to the HaUI leaders some of the issues which need resolving to ensure the success of the training cooperation program.
Both the leaders of York St John University and HaUI asserted that the training program will be started in September, 2013 at Hanoi University of Industry.
At the end of the meeting, Professors met twenty first – year Business Management major students who have taken part in training cooperation program with York St John University.
This is a training program fully fulfilled in Vietnam with one year of English training and three years of specialized subjects teaching. The training program will be implemented according to the standards of York St John University. The teaching and learning will be supported with professional knowledge and technology through the Modle online system. This is new teaching technology; and Hanoi University of Industry is one of the few universities in Vietnam applying it to teaching and learning.
The quality of training program must be modern and advanced in order to provide well-qualified human resources.
