On the morning of 15th May, the Competition Council No. 1 at Hanoi University of Industry held the Opening Ceremony of the 10th National Skills Competition 2018. 91 contestants from 36 delegations participating in 5 skills were present.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thao - Deputy Director of Personnel Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Chairman of the Competition Council No. 1, said that the National Competition Council No. 1 has 91 contestants of 36 delegations participating in 5 skills (Mechanical Engineering - CAD, Fashion Technology, CNC Machine Maintenance, IT System Management and Cable Networking). Hanoi University of Industry, the host of the National Competition Council No. 1, has prepared the best conditions including facilities and equipment to meet the requirements of the event.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Quy, Rector of HaUI, emphasized that “Hanoi University of Industry is honored to be a close partner of the National Skills Competition for years. We warmly welcome experts, teachers and students of other institutions. We will provide the best condition possible for the success of the 10th National Skills Competition 2018.”

Attending the National Skills Competion 2018 at the Competition Council No. 1, Deputy Director of Directorate of Vocational Education and Training, Mr. Truong Anh Dung affirmed that: “In order to integrate successfully into the industrial revolution of the 4.0 era, a technical and skilled labor force is a requirement for the education sector, especially vocational education.”

The National Skills Competition is held biennially, aiming to honor a skilled young workforce and create emulation movements in vocational skills training and learning among enterprises and vocational education establishments. This competition also aims to improve the quality of human resources in production, trade and services, contributing to increasing labor productivity as well as national competitiveness.
The 2018 National Skills Competition will take place from May 15 to 23, and will attract about 1,200 people, including 520 competitors from 56 delegations, 48 provinces and centrally-run cities throughout the country. The competitors, all under 22, are winners of local competitions held earlier nationwide. They will participate in the competitions of 24 vocational skills and 2 performance skills.
This year, Hanoi University of Industry will attend the competition with 18 contestants in 8 skills: Mechanical Engineering Design, Refrigeration, Electronics, CNC Maintenance, IT Networking System Management, IT Software Solution, Automation Industry and Automotive Technology.
