On the evening of May 20th, the Closing and Award Ceremony of the 44th World Skills Competition in 2017 and 10th National Skills Competition 2018 was held at the Military Music Theater. Hanoi University of Industry achieved 8 Gold medals, 5 Bronze medals and 2 Consolation prizes.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam attended and awarded the excellent contestants. Also present at the event were Minister of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) Dao Ngoc Dung, officials of MOLISA; ministries, branches, local authorities, associations, corporations, enterprises, representatives of international organizations in Vietnam, teachers and students.

At this year's competition, there were 520 contestants from 56 delegations. Hanoi University of Industry attended with 18 students competing in 8 skills groups: Mechanical Engineering Design, Refrigeration, Electronics, CNC Maintenance, IT Networking System Management, IT Software Solution, Automation Industry and Automotive Technology. As the competition concluded, HaUI’s students won 8 Gold medals, 5 Bronze medals and 2 Consolation prizes.

In addition, HaUI received the Certificate of Excellence awarded by Minister of MOLISA for hosting the 10th National Skills Competition 2018 with 6 others institutions.

By participating in the National Skills Competition, Hanoi University of Industry does not only wish to create opportunities for students to improve their skills and to participate in the skills competitions at ASEAN and international levels, but also aims to showcase the quality of vocational training at HaUI, the exceptional skills of our students, and thereby doing its part in the renovation of vocational education in Vietnam.
HaUI team at the 10th National Skills Competition 2018
Based on the results this time, the organizers will select excellent contestants for the national team; organize the training courses for the team to prepare them for the 12th ASEAN Skills Competition in Thailand from August 26th to September 4th 2018 and the 45th WorldSkills Competition in Kazan, Russian from 22nd to 27th of August 2019.
