In the morning of September 3rd, 2013, Mr. Ha Xuan Quang – HaUI Vice Rector, the director of Mechanical Engineering Faculty and the director of Vietnam – Japan Centre worked with the delegation of ACSP (Assessment Centre of CAD Skills). The cooperation in holding CAD examination for HaUI’s students was discussed at the meeting.
Mr. Ha Xuan Quang stated that it is important to run CAD training courses at HaUI due to the fact that CAD occupies the crucial role in technical training in Vietnam in general and at HaUI in particular.
According to the standard training program, students of Engineering, especially Mechanical engineering, Automobile Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology and Electrical Engineering Technology must finish subjects related to CAD during their learning process. In addition, the university have made a labor market survey and found that CAD is one of the deciding factors in employers’ recruitment. Therefore, the university hope that graduates will get a steady job and meet marketable skills. CAD examinations are really useful for students to be confronted with reality and test their own knowledge as well, thereby helping the university to significantly improve the training programs.
HaUI have never held any such examinations up to now. ACSP is an organization with professional qualification and experiences in hosting CAD examination in Japan and in the world, so cooperating with ACSP will be a good opportunity for HaUI to learn valuable experience in organizing CAD examination for its engineering students.
Mr. Ha Xuan Quang, HaUI Vice- Rector suggested that official exam questions should be tested by mock exams so that CAD examination can be appropriate to Vietnam’s training programs. Besides, he would also like to know that it is possible for students to be used to some of used exam question forms or whether it is possible to use Vietnamese, instead of Japanese in the official exam questions as expected.
