On October 26th, 2015, during its working visit to Vietnam, Saitama prefecture delegation, led by its Governor Ueda Kiyoshi, made a visit to HaUI. The delegation was well-received by Dr. Tran Duc Quy- Rector of HaUI, along with the representatives of LETCO and experts of HaUI-JICA project.
In his introduction to the Governor of Saitama prefecture, Dr. Tran Duc Quy briefly presented the 117-year history of HaUI and highlighted the achievements that the university has attained over this period. The Rector emphasized that in recent years, the university has been always well supported by Japanese government. For instance, HaUI-JICA, the most outstanding project, has been launched effectively. Each year, the university supplies 500-600 trained workers for Japan via Internship program, Technician program and so on.
Mr. Ueda Kiyoshi, the Governor of Saitama prefecture, expressed his happiness with the effective cooperation between Japan and the university. Saitama prefecture is said to have the highest economic growth rate in Japan with a high concentration of large enterprises. Also, Saitama’s supporting industry has been strongly developing. Its 84 enterprises are investing in Vietnam. Therefore, Saitama prefecture is always “hungry” for workers, especially highly-skilled one. Mr. Ueda hoped that in the future, the university and the prefecture will have a number of cooperation programs, especially highly skilled labor supply program for the prefecture. The two sides were unanimous about devising detailed working schemes soon to implement cooperation activities in the future.
