The 12th 5S week’s opening ceremony with the theme “5s with the university’s missions”

In the morning of 8th November 2016, 5S Committee of Hanoi University of Industry inaugurated the opening ceremony and implementation plans for the 12th 5S-week

Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Vice Rector and Mr.Yorio Kanemaru, HaUI-JICA chief consultant, are directly guiding students through the implementation of this activity

With the theme "5S and the university’s missions", the 12th 5S-week continues to be applied with the core tasks:

- Strengthening and improving the self-assessment skills of the Board 5S at each department;

- Continuing to improve the 5S train process for officers, civil servants and students;

- Examining and proposing measures to ensure electricity safety and fire prevention;

- Examining possible locations to place additional garbage bins in particular areas on campus;

- Continuing to improve the guidance for saving electricity and water in the university;

- Periodically examining the environment and food hygiene processes;

- Maintaining the program "Green Friday" for students;

- Raising students’ awareness on 5S activities.

During the 12th 5S week, the university continues to implement new improvements in 5S activities including self-evaluation, disclosure of self-evaluation results in each department. Based on the self-assessment results of departments, the Commission will examine, evaluate and make recommendations to help each department maintain and comply with the 5S guidelines.

During six years of implementation, 5S activities have become an integral part of Hanoi University of Industry’s activities, which greatly contributes to the prestige of the university. Transcending the border of the university, 5S activities continue to be expanded to other associated training institutions and other enterprises. In the near future, the university is hoping to transfer the commencement of 5S activities to Duc Giang Garment Corporation and Viet – Hung University of industry.
