On December 18th 2015, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) cooperated with the Board of Management of National Foreign Languages 2020 Project to implement the training course for lecturers of Vocational Training, Professional Training, Economics and Technology.
Dr. Bui Thi Ngan, Vice-Rector of HaUI delivered her speech in the ceremony.
The course aimed at providing lecturers with knowledge and skills in language testing and assessment as follows:
After participating in the course, the trainees are expected to understand the basic concepts of testing and assessment in foreign language teaching and its washbacks on teaching and learning; grasp the principles of classroom-based language assessment and identify assessing tools in classroom; utilize assessing tools in classroom to enhance the quality of teaching and learning; design the specifications of foreign language tests; select suitable materials to design valid and reliable listening, reading test items as well as speaking and writing tasks basing on suitable sets of criteria; synthesize and analyze test results to understand learners’ needs and adjust the learning program; understand basic typical features of foreign language assessment in technical and vocational training.
The course drew the attention of numerous lecturers of colleges and universities in the same fields.
The duration of the course is equivalent to 150 periods on the basis of blended learning. The course which took place from 18/12/2015 to 25/12/2015 was delivered by experienced native language experts of Oxford Publishing House and lecturers specialized in language testing and assessment of Vietnam. At the end of the course, trainees were granted course completion certificates.
