In the morning of 11th November 2016, 5S Committee of Hanoi University of Industry conducted the closing ceremony of the 12th 5S week.
With the theme "5S and the university’s missions", according to the Commission 5S, the university had basically achieved the objectives of the 12th 5S-week. In particular, awareness of the activities was changed profoundly.
5S activities continue to be widely implemented in all areas and units of the university; every individual is aware of the benefits of implementing 5S at one’s workplace and participate in the campaign responsibly and voluntarily. Innovative approaches have been introduced by 5S Committee with regards to the inspection and evaluation with the aim of improving the implementation of 5S self-evaluation activities at each department. According to the evaluation results of the Committee 5S, 5S has been improved and enhanced in the entire university. Some units have made major improvements in the 12th 5S-week. According to the assessment:
The office units:
- First prize: Department of Education Inspection;
- Second prize: Library and Information Center;
- Third Prize: Department of Science and Technology.
Faculty - TT training units:
- First Prize: Fashion and Design Department;
- Second prize: Vietnam – Korea Center;
- Third Prize: International Education Centre.
5S agenda for the coming period:
- Continuing to raise students' awareness and individual responsibility in the implementation of 5S.
- Developing a plan to guide the implementation of 5S of the Youth Union; establishing new organizations and 5S youth volunteering groups in areas, especially in residential areas; coordinating traffic safety at the gates 1, 2 and the campus; planning 5S training sessions for teachers and students in Ha Nam.
- Improving the quality of implementation of 5S in each department, especially improving the sorting of records, documents, etc.
- Developing monthly implementation plans, enhancing the quality of self-evaluation and improvement of each department and standardizing the assessment criteria.
- Reviewing and mitigating the most serious risks, especially electrical hazard, fire and explosion, etc.
