Hanoi University of Industry meets with Vietnam Industry Agency and Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology to discuss on establishing VITASK Center
On August 2nd, 2019, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Quy - Rector of Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) had a meeting with delegates of Vietnam Industry Agency - Ministry of Industry and Trade and Korean experts on the implementation of Vietnam - Korea Technological Consultancy and Solution Centre (VITASK) project.
Attending the meeting, on the side of Vietnam Industry Agency (VIA) - Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), there were Mr. Truong Thanh Hoai - Director, Mr. Ngo Khai Hoan - Deputy Director; a delegation from Korean consists of 10 members led by Mr. Kang Sung Yung - Head of International Cooperation Department, Korea Technology Development Institute (KIAT). On the side of HaUI, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Quy - Rector, Dr. Bui Thi Ngan - Vice Rector and representatives of Departments, Faculties and Training Centers.
Overview of the meeting
At the meeting, Mr. Truong Thanh Hoai stated: In 2018, VIA - MOIT and KIAT signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the project to establish Vietnam - Korea Technology Solutions and Consulting Center (VITASK) in Vietnam. As one of the biggest and prestigious university in Vietnam, Hanoi University of Industry was selected as the place where VITASK Center is located.
Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Quy thanks to the leaders of VIA - MOIT and KIAT for their trust and selection Hanoi University of Industry for VITASK project. He affirmed: with experience in implementing many international cooperation projects - including many projects and cooperation programs with enterprises universities and colleges from Korea - HaUI will make a lot of efforts to participate and prepare the best conditions for the success of the project.
Korean delegation at the meeting
Representative of Korean delegation, Mr. Kang Sung Yung said: VITASK Center will be installed with many modern equipment (worth about 80 billion VND) in the fields Engineering, Electricity, Electronics, Automotive Technology to train high quality engineers, technical experts. In the long term, VITASK project is expected to promote the transfer of supporting industrial technology, as well as support the design, manufacture, testing and verification of supporting industrial products for enterprises in Vietnam.
To make the VITASK project to be implemented soon, VIA and KIAT proposed HaUI to provide a location for the installation of equipment; a workplace for Korean experts and implement cooperation on technical training program, engineer training, expert training training with Korea Polytechnic University (KPU).
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Quy affirmed: The University will consider and arrange reasonable location for the project. He also asked involved faculties of HaUI to discuss and exchange training programs with representative of KPU.
