Promote collaboration with Food Industries Research Institute on research and training in the fields of food industry and biotechnology
On the afternoon of March 4th, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong - Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), chaired a working session with the delegation from Food Industries Research Institute to foster the collaboration between the two parties.
Overview of the working session
Food Industries Research Institute, established in 1967, engages in research and development of technology for processing agricultural and food products, biotechnology, and safety assessment of food. Over 55 years of construction and development, Food Industries Research Institute has affirmed its position as a leading institution in transferring food technology and biotechnology under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Nguyen Thanh - Director of Food Industries Research Institute expressed the desire to collaborate with Hanoi University of Industry in promoting research and training, exchanging consultative models for legal policy implementation and autonomous models, and sharing models for establishing and operating businesses under the university.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Nguyen Thanh emphasized that Food Industries Research Institute has a modern infrastructure system in the field of national food analysis and assessment; it excels in training Ph.D. candidates in food technology and biotechnology and organizes activities related to scientific, technological, and economic information in the food processing and biotechnology industries.

At the working session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong emphasized that the establishment of affiliated schools and subsidiary enterprises under the university to create a comprehensive process in training activities, closely linking education with the societal demand and serving as a bridge to support students in seeking employment opportunities and practical professional experience.Up to now, HaUI has established two affiliated schools, namely School of Foreign Languages and Tourism (established in December 2021) and School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (established in August 2023). By 2025, Hanoi University of Industry aims to have 3-5 affiliated schools that are suitable for the requirements of management, training, and new governance models.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong stated that LETCO Company, an enterprise under Hanoi University of Industry, has been fulfilling the role of a bridge in cooperative efforts, connecting students and labor force to the international labor market for over 20 years.
The meeting opens up various avenues for future collaboration between Hanoi University of Industry and Food Industries Research Institute, especially in research and training in the fields of the food industry and biotechnology.
