Review Conference of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the 2023-2024 Academic Year
On November 9, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held its annual review conference to evaluate the training and development efforts of the 2023-2024 academic year and outline strategic directions for the 2024-2025 academic year. Attended by Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang, the conference emphasized the critical importance of enhancing human resource training in the Industry and Trade sector to remain competitive amid global integration and deepening international competition.

Achievements of the 2023-2024 Academic Year
In the 2023-2024 academic year, institutions under the Ministry of Industry and Trade saw remarkable enrollment success. Universities achieved an enrollment rate of 91.25%, colleges reached 80.69%, and intermediate schools reported a 74.4% rate compared to their respective targets. This accomplishment reflects the strength and reputation of these institutions in a competitive educational landscape that increasingly demands decentralization and streaming.
Furthering this achievement, the Ministry’s institutions have gained recognition through initiatives like the Government's Program "Developing Human Resources for the Semiconductor Industry to 2030, with a Vision to 2050." Hanoi University of Industry, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City, and Electricity Power University have been prioritized for investment in semiconductor laboratories to cultivate skilled professionals for this growing sector.

Key Directions for the 2024-2025 Academic Year
Reflecting on both successes and challenges of the past year, Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang outlined the Ministry’s primary goals and strategies for 2024-2025, focusing on:
- Enhancing institutional autonomy and accountability;
- Streamlining and optimizing organizational structures to increase efficiency and reduce waste;
- Improving the quality of educators and administrators;
- Implementing comprehensive measures to elevate training quality;
- Promoting scientific and technological research aligned with the national strategy for 2021-2030;

- Supporting projects to nurture student entrepreneurship…
These directions collectively aim to further the Ministry’s commitment to fostering an adaptable, skilled workforce that meets evolving labor market demands.

Notably, three educators received the prestigious title of "Excellent Teacher" including Dr. Nguyen Van Thien, Vice Rector, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Trong Chuong, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at HaUI. This accolade reflects their exceptional dedication and impact on Vietnam’s educational landscape.
