Impressive numbers at the 15th Scientific Research Conference for Students
Academic Year 2023-2024 saw 2,272 students participate in scientific research with 562 projects successfully defended. The projects covered a wide range of topics and were highly regarded for their quality, novelty, creativity, and practical application. Some projects have even been published in reputable international journals listed in ISI/Scopus.

Remarkable Growth in Quantity and Quality
In recent years, the scientific research movement among students at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) has made remarkable progress. In the 2023-2024 academic year, 562 projects were successfully defended, with 41 First Prizes, 98 Second Prizes, 109 Third Prizes, and 314 Encouragement Prizes across 11 different fields. The number of scientific research projects in the 2023-2024 academic year increased by 148 compared to the 2022-2023 academic year.
The quality of the research projects has been progressively enhanced. Numerous exemplary projects demonstrate high applicability, such as: the application of combining the MUSIC algorithm with Adaptive Beamforming techniques to improve audio quality for online calls (by students from the Faculty of Electronic Engineering); A study on the conditions for biosynthesis of Hyaluronic acid from microorganisms (by students from the Faculty of Chemical Technology); and a study on the impact of green logistics practices on the sustainable efficiency of small and medium-sized logistics enterprises in Hanoi (by students from the Faculty of Business Management),etc…
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong, Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Industry, acknowledged and praised the contributions of the HaUI's lecturers and students over the past academic year.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong emphasized: Facing the challenges posed by the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the process of international integration, science, technology and innovation are considered one of the breakthrough strategies to develop the country in the coming period, in which the young intellectual team plays an extremely important role. Students are one of the key factors in innovation and community engagement. Scientific research not only helps students expand their professional knowledge but also hones their creative thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork capabilities. These skills will support them on their career-building path.

Motivating Students to Conduct Scientific Research
Hanoi University of Industry always creates the best conditions for students to unleash their potential and creativity with their passion to conquer new heights in learning and research. HaUI consistently allocates resources to develop and promote student scientific research activities. The budget for student scientific research in the 2023-2024 academic year was over 5 billion VND, an increase of more than 1.5 times compared to the 2022-2023 academic year. Hanoi University of Industry continues to invest in facilities, equipment, and financial support, creating the most favorable conditions for research activities.
Quach Thi Nhat from the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing won the First Prize in the 15th Annual Student Scientific Research Competition with the project "A study on Factors Affecting Errors in Financial Statements at Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Hanoi," inspiring students to participate in scientific research.
At the 6th National Startup Festival for students held in Can Tho in 2024, the project "Extraction of Essential Oils and Compressed Charcoal from Orange and Grapefruit Peels (Zest Aroma)" by five students from Hanoi University of Industry won the Second Prize in the field of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries. These initial achievements will serve as motivation and a solid foundation for students to succeed in future startups.
